Privacy Policy

At Windmill Counselling Therapy, we take your privacy seriously. We only ask you to provide information needed in order to deliver the service you requested.

Information That May Be Collected

At WindmillCounsellingTherapy.ca, your personally identifiable information may be collected by us or a third party when you perform certain tasks, such as:

  • when you send an email to Windmill Counselling Therapy your name and email address is generally visible,
  • when you call Windmill Counselling Therapy using the number listed on the website or profile listing on Psychology Today and elsewhere, a record is kept by the phone number service provider indicating when the call was placed,
  • if Windmill Counselling Therapy were to provide third party assessments as a service, when you fill out an assessment or take a self-test they would be administered by third-parties who have their own Privacy Policies concerning information they may collect. Please refer to their policies via the Privacy Policy links on the assessment and test pages,
  • when you pay for an individual session or a couples session, your payment information is submitted directly to the payment processor. Windmill Counselling Therapy has no payment information other than knowledge that a payment was made,
  • when you open an email communication from Windmill Counselling Therapy in your email program, software technology may be used to let Windmill Counselling Therapy know which emails have been opened.
  • like most websites, Windmill Counselling Therapy’s hosting service maintains logs of site usage for purposes of ensuring Windmill Counselling Therapy does not exceed its allotted space. This data is not uniquely identifying.

Limitations

Data Access and Erasure

Data deletion requests are subject to certain exceptions: for example, if your data is necessary to comply with legal obligations. To exercise your rights, please send a request via email to stephen@windmillcounsellingtherapy.ca with the subject line “Personal Data Request” that provides sufficient information to allow me to verify that you are the individual or represent the individual about whom we may have collected Personal Data. I will work to respond within the mandated time frame.

Amendments

The owner of Windmill Counselling Therapy reserves the right to change this policy as needed.
